I’m going to tell you about my flight from Stockholm, Sweden to London, England. Here’s how it started…read on.

I was having a normal day when on that day, Dad announced, “We are going to London soon!” I was excited and sad at the same time. After all, firstly, I was excited because I have never been to London, and secondly, I was sad because going to London meant not seeing my friends, especially my best friend, Hajra. Later that day, we packed all of our clothes and things into suitcases. When we finished, we counted the bags. There were 6 small bags and 3 big bags and we packed 6 big cardboard box and sent them to our new home in England. Then the day came for our flight to leave. We went to the airport in Manha’s dad’s car. Manha is one of my friends. It was a long way to the airport, so I and Manha almost got asleep. Then we finally reached the airport. We did all of the airport things, like taking off our coats, mobile phones, keys and some more things and put them on the conveyor belt and putting the big bags on a different conveyor belt. Then we took a seat and waited for our plane to land. While we were waiting, my 2-year-old brother, Zahian, who was 1-year-old then, started to crawl around because he seemed to be a bit bored waiting for a long time. We waited until the plane landed, then we got into the line. When we finally got to the front, a lady that checks bags said one of our bags was too big to fit in the overhead lockers and it should have been put on the conveyor belt where the other big bags had been put. So she put a sticker on it and when we got to the front of the tunnel thing again, another man saw the sticker and said it should go to the plane underneath, so they took the bag and we went into the plane. When I stepped in there, some memories came to me from when I was 5 years old. I remembered about this is how we went to Bangladesh, by a plane, and I could remember that the flight attendant gave my 6-year-old brother, Zayd, who was 2 years old then, a cuddly toy. The cuddly toy was Mr Potato Head, a character from a movie called Toy Story. I and my whole family had a seat in the same row. I had a seat next to Dad, and Zayd had a seat next to Mum. Zahian sat on Mum’s lap because he was still just a baby. I had to sleep a bit uncomfortably, my head on Dad’s arm, because the seat wasn’t like a bed, of course. The seat still was comfy because it had a lot of cushioning, like a great big pillow. The plane soon landed, and it was 1 o’clock, right in the night, so it was dark dark DARK. We went to the airline shuttle bus, and my dad was the last person to come on the bus because he had to carry all of the suitcases, and he needed some help from the flight attendant. Soon when he was finished with the bags, he came on the bus and the driver set off. When we arrived there, I thought it didn’t really look like London from the pictures Dad had shown me of London, then Dad told me, “This isn’t London, this is Luton! This is a small town near London,” “What?” I said, puzzled because I thought Dad said we would come to London? Then Dad added, “Yes, I did say we would come to London, but we couldn’t because I couldn’t find any place to stay in, so we just had to come here, but we would go to London soon because it’s not that far so we don’t need another plane, just a car or train,” “Who’s car are we going on? We don’t have a car!” I said, still a bit puzzled. “We are going to London in Alal Uncle’s car! He is a friend who lives in Luton, and he’s the person we are waiting for just right now!” Dad says, then adds, “And here he comes!” he pointed to someone in the shadows. “Hello!” said Alal uncle, “Ready for your new home?” and he led us through the darkness and soon we found ourselves in front of a big, grey car with seven seats and even mini TVs at the back of the front seats. “Come in!” said Alal uncle cheerfully. So we got in and watched the movie on the mini TVs. The movie was about a penguin that can dance its feet. Then Dad suddenly said, “Where are you going? You’re not going in the direction of our house?” “First you all are going to my home!” said Alal uncle, just as we arrived at his house. We jumped out and Alal uncle put a key through the lock. We went in. His house was big, and 3 children watched us get in. Alal uncle introduced them to us, “This big boy is Saihan, this is Sarah and the smallest one is Fariha,” then he introduced us. We had fun playing with the new kids until Dad said, “I think we should go back now and explore our new home. So Alal uncle took us to our house, and there were two beds already because Alal uncle knew we would come because Dad told him so he put these beds there so that we don’t have to sleep on the floor.

That’s how the flight ended. And shall I tell you something? I thought we would have been in London for a few months but guess what? We have been in England for 1 year and 9 months!
